to drop off your proposal

Members of the New Canaan Society for the Arts are invited to submit proposals for one-person shows in the Betty Barker Gallery for an exhibition March 17- April 14, 2013.

Nine artists will be selected by the curator for the show.  This is an opportunity for members to showcase a body of work that is unified in terms of theme and style.  This is not an opportunity for a retrospective, but to show a cohesive body of work that represents a recent sustained focus.  Interested artists are asked to submit a CD with examples of their work for consideration.  The curator will work with selected artists to choose the work for their show.  The Gallery will be divided into nine “mini-galleries”, and the wood floor area in the front of the gallery will serve as one additional space for one sculptor to exhibit.  Artists will pay a fee for their own space as indicated below.

PROPOSAL:  Send or drop off your proposal not later than Friday, February 15th, 2013 Only members of NCSA will be considered.  Notification will be via email shortly after. Final selection of the artists for 9SOLOS will be dependent on brief studio visits

ALL PROPOSALS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

1. Name, address, phone, email

2. A brief artist statement describing the body of work you intend to exhibit including an approximate number of artworks.

3. A CD with 5 – 10 images that are representative of some or all of the work you would like to show with an image list including title, medium, size and price of each of the works.  These are not necessarily the only works in your exhibit, but a sample of the body of work that you would like to show.

4. Entry: $20 by check made out to NCSA

Please send proposal to: Carriage Barn Arts Center, 9SOLOS, P.O. Box 1044, New Canaan, CT 06840
