Job Description – Internship, Fall 2017
The mission of the New Canaan Society for the Arts, Inc. is to promote the visual and performing arts, and to enrich the community through exhibitions, education, and cultural experiences, and to operate the Carriage Barn Arts Center.
We are looking for two motivated, detail-oriented interns who are eager to learn and gain experience working with a non-profit art center and in a gallery setting. Tasks will include, but are not limited to: front desk maintenance, interacting with members and visitors, administrative tasks, research, special projects and general operations.
The right candidate will be a self-starter who is organized and able to multitask. Good phone etiquette and people skills are a must, as are computer skills. The internship requires a one year commitment (Fall ’17 – June ’18) and candidate should be available 1-2 days per week. Some weekend or evening hours will be required.
Interns should be undergraduates, graduate students, or recent college graduates.
