“Inside The Photo Shoot” Lecture with Laurie Kratochvil

 Laurie’s latest book project, 50 Years of Rolling Stone: The Music, Politics and People that Changed Our Culture is due out in 2017. Come hear Kratochvil share her stories, “behind the scenes” experiences and unforgettable anecdotes from working with some of the most celebrated photographers – Alvedon, Herb Ritts, Steven Meisel, Hiro, Albert Watson – and celebrities of our time.

Laurie Kratochvil is a legendary photo editor. She began her career at the LA Times and went on to join Rolling Stone in 1982. In 1994, Kratochvil became the founding photo editor for In Style Magazine and worked there until 2005, before starting her own visual consulting business, working with magazines such as Self, Men’s Health and Essence.

Her book projects include NY Times best seller Rolling Stone: The Photographs, Africa by Herb Ritts, Cyclops by Albert Watson, Mil Besos and Angel Gitano by Ruven Afanador, DIANA VREELAND The Modern Woman by Alexander Vreeland. Kratochvil is a board member of The Society of Publication Design, a jury member of World Press, and on faculty at The International Center for Photography.  She has been a frequent panelist and lecturer, and has judged numerous photography competitions.
