DESCRIPTION:Saturdays 9-10am\, September 19 – October 24\nJoin us Saturday mornings for a continuing wellness collaboration between the Carriage Barn and Diane Nickelberg Barnett and introducing yoga instructor Talita Moss. This Gentle Yoga and Sound Bath series will engage both body and mind to help melt away the stresses of the week and start your weekend right! \nAfter a brief opening meditation\, we’ll stretch and loosen up with a gentle yoga practice\, accompanied by the soft sounds of Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls\, chimes\, gongs\, drums and more. You’ll then sink into an extended Savasana like no other while you become immersed in the magical sounds of the healing instruments\, creating vibrational energy to lull you into a deeply relaxed\, meditative state.  \nOpen to all levels; no experience needed. Diane is a graduate of Cornell University and CUNY School of Law\, and holds multiple certifications in teaching meditation and yoga (including Yoga Nidra)\, sound healing\, tapping (EFT)\,  and has completed training as a Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTalita Moss is a yoga teacher and ELDOA trainer in coastal CT. Practicing since 2004 and teaching since 2013\, Talita focuses on teaching sustainable movement practices with attention to joint health and strength. DESCRIPTION:Members $30 / Non Members $40\, pls register below\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCellist Sophie Shao\, winner of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant and top prizes at the Rostropovich and Tchaikovsky competitions\, is a versatile and passionate artist whose performances the New York Times has described as “eloquent\, powerful\,” the LA Times noted as “impressive” and the Washington Post called “deeply satisfying \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVincent Inconiglios is a contemporary abstract artist who has lived and worked on Gansevoort Street in NYC's Meatpacking District of since 1969. He was an artist-in-residence at the Dayton Art Institute in Ohio and a visiting artist at the Living Arts Program\, a multi-cultural creative project. Inconiglios’s art has been featured in regional and national exhibitions and solo shows in NewYork City and Europe. He was one of the selected artists of “Ten Downtown” in the 1970s and his work has been recognized by Barbara Rose in New York Magazine\, reviewed in Artforum\, and seen in The New York Times. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOskar Espina Ruiz is associate professor of clarinet at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Born in Bilbao\, Spain\, his first musical training came at an early age\, performing on Basque folk instruments. He later pursued traditional conservatory training as a clarinetist and appeared with the Bilbao Symphony as its youngest member from age sixteen. He came to New York City to further his studies at Mannes School of Music\, and won top clarinet prizes at the Artists International and Olga Koussevitzky International Competitions. He holds an MFA from Purchase College and a DMA from Stony Brook University. This series\, we will dive into the world of Cyrus Kabiru. Kabiru is a Kenyan artist best known for creating imaginative wearable sculptures from recycled materials\, transforming everyday discarded objects into bold works of art that celebrate creativity\, sustainability\, and self-expression. \nWith Mrs. McKay’s guidance\, children will dive into the creative process by using different materials to create their own unique piece inspired by Kabiru’s inventive approach. This hands-on experience not only fosters creativity but also teaches valuable lessons in collaboration and artistic expression. \nNo experience necessary! \n– Class is limited to 10 children– Classes DESCRIPTION:In this three hour workshop led by an instructor from the renowned Isabel O'Neil Studio in NYC\, students are guided through the process of gilding using variegated metallic leaf.   \nParticipants will create a customized monogrammed tray to take home the same day.  Learn to prep the surface\, paint a base coat\, apply a monogram stencil\, and accent the edges with gold leaf and gilding wax.
