Flourishes Calligraphy Workshop

This three-hour workshop focuses on learning how to decorate words and short texts with elegant flourishes. Participants will explore how decorative strokes can enhance rhythm, movement, and balance in calligraphy, and how to apply flourishes thoughtfully and with intention.
The workshop is suitable for participants with some prior experience in pointed pen calligraphy. It will be especially helpful for those who have attended introductory classes such as Note to Yourself, Modern Calligraphy, or Holiday Calligraphy. The class is structured in a supportive, approachable way, with an emphasis on exploration and skill-building rather than perfection.
Participants will practice embellishing individual words and short compositions, gaining confidence in using flourishes in a controlled and expressive manner.
There are two dates available for this class:
March 4 | 10:00 AM–1 PM (Wednesday)
March 8 | 3:00–6:00 PM (Sunday)
Member $95 / Non Member $110

Dina Ruzha is a local illustrator, calligrapher, and lettering artist who tells stories through bold characters, expressive letterforms, and color palettes that stop the scroll.
She specializes in book covers for romance, romcom, romantasy, and YA — with a particular love for illustrated characters paired with custom hand-drawn titles. Her focus is always on color, emotion, and composition so that each cover not only stands out beautifully but also connects instantly with the right readers.
Beyond illustration, she is deeply passionate about calligraphy. Her work has been exhibited at the United Nations, where she was honored to perform live calligraphy and speak as part of their cultural programming. She also shares this craft through workshops, helping people discover the beauty of the written word and even creating custom commissionslike family trees and marriage certificates.
