CAPTURING NEW CANAAN

On Saturday, October 22 artists participated in a plein air and outdoor art-making day throughout New Canaan’s iconic landscapes and settings such as Waveny Park, the Bristow Bird Sanctuary, Elm Street, New Canaan Historical Society, Grace Farms and more.  

Congratulations to artist Gene Barbera who was awarded the Waveny Park Conservancy prize of $500.  His piece Waveny Sledding will be featured on the Conservancy’s holiday card.  

The exhibit will also feature the winning photographs of Preservation Connecticut‘s “Picturing History: Historic Landscapes of Connecticut” contest. This contest was held in celebration of Frederick Law Olmsted’s 200th birthday, a man considered to be the father of American landscape architecture.
