Collage workshop with Brian Kaspr

January 27 @ 10:15 am - 1:15 pm

Life is a collage, we are bombarded by media of all sorts. Not to mention the seemingly impossible task of absorbing the world as one moves through it.

Let’s take some of that chaos and distill it into a physical work that represents our unique perspective.

Join artist Brian Kaspr and explore collage as a means of abstract expression. In this 3 hour workshop, students will learn to look beyond the predetermined aesthetics and layouts of printed media.

Participants will use cut material as one would wield a paint brush. This unstructured approach allows for endless exploration, experimentation, and happy accidents…

All materials will be provided. But feel free to bring photos or objects for inspiration, and any other materials you would like to use!

$75 members / $95 non-members

Brian Kaspr is a multi media artist based in Norwalk, CT.  As a graphic designer Kaspr created original lettering, logotypes, patterns, and one-of-a-kind customized objects for his clients.

Kaspr’s artistic work has evolved from his skills as a sign painter and lettering artist. He is locally known for his abstract paintings and public art which are based in lettering, but, rather than convey a message, the letterforms are utilized as a means of mark making.

Along with his personal work, Kaspr co-founded the critically acclaimed wallpaper and fabric design studio Flat Vernacular.
