Encaustic Exploration Workshop with Carolyn Childs

Come discover and create using the encaustic art medium!  This 2-hour workshop with Carolyn Childs introduces this versatile to art medium and teaches various techniques using a hot iron and wax.  Participants of all artistic skill levels will have the opportunity to create paintings on multiple surfaces.

Encaustic is a method of painting with wax.  The pure beeswax is mixed with resin and pigments.  Each layer of wax is melted and fused with heat to the substrate.  You will learn how to use this hot wax painting technique to create sublime and beautiful works of art.
