MOCA WESTPORT TOUR: YAYOI KUSAMA

Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 11am

Visit the new MoCA Westport’s recently opened new location for a guided tour of Yayoi Kusama’s infinity mirror room and installations. Where the Lights in My Heart Go is a work of two distinct characters. While its mirrored exterior both reflects and appears to merge with its surroundings, punctured with small holes it becomes, on the inside, a fathomless space punctuated by dots of daylight. Narcissus Garden originated in 1966, when the artist first participated, albeit unofficially, in the Venice Biennale. This expansive and immersive work comprises mirrored spheres displayed en masse to create a dynamic reflective field.

Our group will meet at the new MoCA space at 19 Newtown Turnpike, Westport, CT for an 11am tour followed by an optional lunch (additional charge). Call 203-594-3638 if you would like a ride from the Carriage Barn Arts Center at 10:30am.
