As we close our 2011-2012 exhibition year, I would like to thank everyone for their generous support of The New Canaan Society for the Arts. It has been through your kind donations, countless volunteer hours, and generous grants from community organizations that the Carriage Barn Arts Center has been able to provide outstanding exhibitions and events all while keeping its doors open to the public free of charge.
In addition to our growing membership, we would also be remiss if we did not thank our sponsors and also the many area organizations and businesses for their support this past year. These include: the Bank of New Canaan, the Exchange Club of New Canaan, the Fairfield County Community Foundation, the Jeniam Foundation, Karl Chevrolet, the New Canaan Beautification League, the New Canaan Community Foundation, the New Canaan Newcomers Club, Rotary Club of New Canaan and Walter Stewarts Market. We could not do all that we do without the generous support of these local businesses.
I also wish to thank our staff Caretakers, Frank O’Connor and Ashley Maltagliati, our Gallery Administrator, Diane Hughes, and our talented Gallery Director, Lydia Viscardi. It is their dedication and energy that keep our wheels in motion. This spring we sadly said goodbye to Diane Hughes who relocated to New Hampshire. We want to thank her for her contribution these past four years and wish her well in her endeavors.
I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for all the hard-working past and present board members who have given selflessly of their time and energy, contributing to the continued growth of NCSA. We could not accomplish all that we do, without the hard work and dedication of all of our board members.
The NCSA board and staff are looking forward to an exciting year ahead and hope that you will be inspired this summer to create a piece for one of our upcoming exhibits. Please check our website for the 2012-2013 calendar of events at www.carriagebarn.org
