EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS
SPECTRUM promotes original contemporary art, wrought by hand by area artists. This juried exhibition of original work only, no reproductions includes all media except photography, completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited at the Carriage Barn.
JUROR:
Dr. Jill Deupi is the Founding Director and Chief Curator of the Bellarmine Museum of Art at Fairfield University, where she is also an Assistant Professor of Art History. She received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Deupi holds both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in art history from the University of London’s Birkbeck College and the University of Virginia, respectively. A fellow of the American Academy in Rome (2004), Dr. Deupi wrote her doctoral dissertation on art and cultural politics in 18th-century Naples. Her prior museum experience includes work at the Royal Academy of Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Snite Museum of Art, the National Gallery (Washington, D.C.) and the Wallace Collection.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
A maximum of 5 works per artist will be accepted for a non-refundable fee:
- NCSA members: $20 for 2 and $30 for up to 5 entries.
- Non-members: $35 for 2 and $45 for up to 5 entries. (Note: Join now and participate in the fall Members’ Show.)
ENTRY DEADLINE:
Online entries or mailed CD’s must be RECEIVED by Thursday, March 28th.

File type must be jpg. Size images not larger than 8” x 8” at 72 dpi.
File name format is: Last name_First name entry#_ShortTitle.jpg

- Payment method is PayPal, or call the Carriage Barn with your credit card information.
- SUBMIT. You will receive a confirmation email.
Mail Entries (alternative submission method):
- Burn a CD of .jpg images sized and labeled as above.
- Please scroll down and complete the entry form (without uploading images) and SUBMIT.
- You will receive a confirmation email.
- Include a printed copy of entry form with your CD.
- Include a check made out to NCSA. Submissions received without payment will not be considered by the juror.

- Must be RECEIVED by Thursday, March 28th.
- Include a self addressed stamped CD mailer with your entry only if you would like your CD returned.
NOTIFICATION:
List of accepted artworks will be posted to our website on Friday, April 5th. You will not receive email notification of the juror’s decision.
MEDIA SPECIFICATIONS: All media except photography is welcome.
Two-dimensional works must be framed and wired for hanging. Hanging mechanism is the “Walker Hanging System.” Saw tooth hangers and small wire loops on the back of inexpensive frames are not acceptable along with scratched glass or Plexiglas, poorly constructed frames and poorly cut mats. The Curator reserves the right to reject any work whose presentation is sub-standard. Maximum horizontal dimension is 60”. Works requiring special installation (ex: unframed) may not be acceptable for this open call exhibition. Contact the Curator prior to submission.
Sculpture must be presented in a permanent, non-fragile medium. The Gallery has a limited number of pedestals. Artists might need to provide pedestals. The walker hanging system is used for wall sculpture. All sculpture must be small enough for two art handlers to move comfortably and not exceed 100 lbs. All sculpture must be delivered fully assembled and presented in a permanent, non-fragile medium.
LIABILITY AND INSURANCE:
Insurance covers work accepted for exhibition while in possession of NCSA. NCSA will insure all accepted work to the extent of 65% of the value accepted by the insurance company less any deductible. NCSA will not be liable for work not claimed after specified pick-up dates and times. All care will be taken while art is at the Carriage Barn, but NCSA is not responsible for any loss or damage to the artwork during delivery, installation and de-installation or for normal wear and tear, such as minor nicks to frames or scratches to plexiglass.
SALES: Work for sale is encouraged. NCSA receives a 35% donation on sales.

All work must be hand delivered to the Carriage Barn Arts Center on:
Monday, April 15th, 5:30 – 7:30 pm or
Tuesday, April 16th, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Do NOT ship or mail work.

Please note: Work not picked up after the show at designated pick-up time is charged a $20.00 storage fee, unless prior notice is given to the Gallery Office Manager.
