Join us on Friday, August 22 for an end-of-summer visit to MoCA Westport for a guided tour led by Lewis Dérogène, Head of Exhibitions.
We’ll begin with a gourmet boxed lunch on the museum’s grounds, followed by an exclusive guided viewing of the current exhibition:
Tod Papageorge: At the Beach
This exhibition showcases a selection of striking black-and-white photographs by Tod Papageorge, taken on the beaches of Los Angeles during the 1970s and 1980s. These summer-inspired images vividly capture the energy, style, and culture of California beach life in that era. The recipient of two Guggenheim Fellowships and two National Endowment for the Arts grants, Papageorge’s work is represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, as well as numerous other collections. He is the author of seven books, including “Passing Through Eden: Photographs of Central Park”, “Studio 54”, and “Dr. Blankman’s New York”.
In addition to the featured exhibition, guests will have the opportunity to explore MoCA Westport’s contemporary galleries and learn more about the current season of programming. Enjoy the museum’s recently renovated building and discover what’s on view throughout the rest of this dynamic and inspiring space.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a great art venue and celebrated photography exhibition close to home!
