Oskar Espina Ruiz returns, with Brazilian-born artist/flutist/creator Tadeu Coelho and pianist Dmitri Vorobiev.
Together they bring a high-octane program of trios, including Camille Saint-Saëns’ Tarantelle; Valerie Coleman’s Portraits of Langston, featuring Treetops supporter and community citizen, Juanita James as the Narrator of Langston Hughes’ poetic memories of Harlem and Paris in the early 1900s; Gabriela Lena Frank’s Canto de Harawi: Amadeoso, a short tone poem that imagines the composer’s childhood dream of walking hand-in-hand with Mozart through the Andes; Russell Peterson’s Trio, inspired by the Duduk, a Middle Eastern oboe; and Guillaume Connesson’s Techno-Parade, an exciting finale.
