Spring Awakening Retreat with Grounded Meditation

Let’s gather together as the season changes to refocus, reset, retreat and renew! This half-day mini retreat is designed to celebrate the arrival of Spring and embrace the theme of new beginnings. This immersive experience will connect you to nature, your body, and your inner self through a variety of restorative practices.

 

Retreat Highlights

  • Yoga Nidra Meditation: This deep guided meditation will help you set intentions for the season ahead, allowing you to release the old and welcome the new. The experience will be accompanied by the transformative vibrations of a Sound Bath as you allow the soothing sounds of crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, chimes, drums, and other instruments to wash over you, This auditory experience will help you release tension and create space for new growth.

  • Forest Bathing: Immerse yourself in the healing energy of nature with a guided forest bathing experience. This practice encourages mindfulness and connection to the natural world, promoting a sense of peace and renewal.

  • Somatic Yoga: Engage in a gentle somatic yoga session that focuses on body awareness and movement. This practice encourages you to listen to your body, fostering a deeper connection and facilitating the release of any lingering stress.

  • Cacao Ceremony: Celebrate the heart-opening qualities of Ceremonial Cacao, known for its ability to enhance clarity and promote heart-centered connections. We’ll honor the spirit of cacao through ceremony and ritual, allowing for introspection and the release of any emotional blockages.

  • Self-Expression: Through intentional journaling with carefully curated prompts, you’ll explore your thoughts and feelings about releasing what you no longer need and opening yourself up to the new beginnings that each Spring promises.

     

Through this series of interwoven experiences, you’ll open up your heart and your mind to new possibilities. Snacks and tea will be provided throughout and everybody will leave with a “swag” bag chock full of goodies to help you continue the momentum of the day.  All activities will take place in the space of the Carriage Barn Arts Center- a warm and welcoming, light-filled structure with art-covered walls; and in spectacular Waveny Park, right outside the Carriage Barn doors.

Diane Nickelberg-Barnett is the founder of Grounded Meditation and a successful NYC Real Estate attorney who realized years ago that she needed something to help balance the stress and chaos of her busy and demanding career. Diane is a graduate of Cornell University and CUNY School of Law, and holds multiple certifications in teaching meditation and yoga (including Yoga Nidra), sound healing, tapping (EFT),  and has completed training as a Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator.
 
Catherine Barrett began her meditation journey seven years ago and has been committed to it ever since.Two years ago, Catherine completed her teacher training in the Shamatha style of meditation and began instructing students privately. She also currently volunteers at Silver Hill Hospital, where she teaches meditation to the inpatient adolescent population and those in the Executive/Professionals Program. In addition to her certification in teaching meditation, she also recently completed her Reiki Master certification as well as Pranayama teaching training.
