“Through Your Looking Glass” Social Justice Youth Art Showcase

November 16 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Stand Together Against Racism (S.T.A.R), in partnership with The Glass House and the Carriage Barn Arts Center will present its third annual “Through Your Looking Glass” student art showcase that seeks to recognize the role of art, design and/or architecture in advancing social justice related to inclusion, equity and diversity.

CT students of all ages in Fairfield County, including college, have created art that reflects how they feel about equality or how social justice impacts their lives. Mediums include paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, sculpture, videos/film (including TikTok style) or architectural renderings. and mounted/framed art or 3D art.

The exhibit will also feature work by local artists Butch Quick and Jahmane West. They will host an interactive workshop at the Carriage Barn on 11/24.

Local NCHS student Celina Savage will perform at the opening reception. Celina is a 17 year old NCHS senior and singer/songwriter with aspirations of sharing her music with the world. Raw vocal ability coupled with amazing lyrical composition gives her a sound like nothing coming out of mainstream music. While some of her songs give the nostalgic aura of historical greats, she has been influenced by artists like Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Girl in Red, and Noah Kahan. Celina is excited to release and share with the music world!
