COLLAGE & WATERMEDIA WORKSHOP

NEW: one-day workshop with artist & instructor Anne McCormick

Tuesday, October 8 from 10am-2pm (new date)

Artists & Beginners Welcome — come experiment with composition & color and go home with a finished collage or two!

In this class, both watercolor (transparent) and gouache (opaque) paints will be explored as well as collage. Through a series of discussions and demonstrations, Anne will teach about technique, color, composition, perspective, and light & shadow. Captivating, but simple still life arrangements will be set up for inspiration.   Students are welcome to bring interesting objects and/or photos to class. A bit of Art History will be reviewed to show the masterpieces that have been created with these mediums.

Anne E. McCormick is a fine artist, art educator and graphic designer. She has her B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has taught art at the following museums: Cloisters /Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), and the Rhode Island School of Design (Providence). Over a decade ago, Anne founded an art program at Inpirica (Former St. Luke’s Lifeworks in Stamford, CT.) and continues to teach there. Anne finds much joy in the healing beauty and colors of nature which has inspired her line of notecards.
